This performance was a reflection on gender identity, expressed through both live and recorded forms. At the time, I was still new to the concepts of gender and questioning the extent to which insecurity and internalised beliefs played a role in both suppression and understanding. Looking back on it four years later, I see it as a first step towards becoming more liberated from the image I had once defined myself by, and restricted myself to.

Throughout the performance, I wrapped myself in thin but sturdy rope, gradually restricting my own movement until I was eventually confined to a squatting position. This live performance lasted about one and a half hours.
